Monterotondo Marittimo

The village, from its unique position, dominates the green hillsides of Maremma that descend towards the sea. The closeness of the coast means it is an ideal destination for the summer months: you can reach the beautiful beaches of Baratti,Riva Verde,Torre Mozza comfortably in about 30 minutes, and a little further on you can visit the wonderful Cala Violina, a crystal blue cove surrounded by lush green nature.



From April to October, the climate is excellent for excursions to archaeological sites, and the untouched beauty of Alta Maremma. During the Summer, you can take the unique opportunity to taste typical local cuisine at the famous regional festivals and then in the autumn there is the gathering of chestnuts and wild mushrooms. Monterotondo is also an excellent starting point to explore the magnificent art cities of Tuscany.

The Biancane Park (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE), overlooking the village, is an highly evocative place, as well as a point of great interest from an archeological and naturalistic perspective. The endogenous reactions that exit naturally from the ground, create a suggestive panorama which recalls Dante's Inferno and gives the visitor an unforgettable experience on the Colline Metallifere.
